In addition to regular teaching and learning strategies employed in the classroom, the school recognizes and rewards the top five outstanding learners in each class at the mid-term and end-of-term examinations.
These exceptional students are given the opportunity to participate in an excursion, which serves as a reward for their academic achievements. Furthermore, students who have shown significant improvement, even if they did not make it to the top five, are also identified and included in the excursion trip. This approach ensures that all students who demonstrate progress and dedication are acknowledged and encouraged.
St. Mary’s School is not solely focused on academic accomplishments but also recognizes and values other qualities in its students. Hardworking students in various capacities, beyond academic work, are given priority to join the excursion. This acknowledgment motivates students to excel not only in their studies but also in extracurricular activities, leadership roles, or community service.
Moreover, the school values Christ-centered behaviours and acknowledges students who exhibit them. These students are also given the opportunity to join the excursion trip, recognizing and celebrating their moral and ethical conduct aligned with Christian principles.
At the end of the Second Term of the 2023 academic year, the selected students embarked on an excursion to Lagon Botanical Gardens. Accompanied by a tour guide and St. Mary’s facilitators, they had a valuable learning experience, expanding their knowledge and skills. The school believes that this excursion has contributed to their overall development and capacity building.
For the students who were unable to participate in the excursion, the school encourages them to persevere and continue their efforts. By studying harder, exhibiting Christ-like behaviours, and remaining actively engaged in school, these students have the opportunity to be recognized and rewarded in the future.
