St. Mary’s Day Care and Preparatory School proudly joined forces with schools from the Eastern Region in a dynamic coding competition called the Hour of Code, masterminded by Edify Ghana.

Guided by Rev. Joseph Godson Amadeus, (the dedicated mentor of St. Mary’s Smart Coders) students underwent meticulous training and nurturing.
These young learners, recognizing the importance of coding in their future, showed incredible enthusiasm and determination.

Despite the challenge of combining studies with the project, these students persevered and designed a web-based solution to enhance parental involvement in their children’s education. Empowered by Edify Ghana’s Six Thinking Hats Approach, the students created a groundbreaking solution from scratch.

Their hard work paid off when their project emerged victorious in the Eastern Regional Competition and subsequently the National Overall Champions.

The exceptional team, including Samantha Pokuah Aboagye, Manuela Debrah Kissi, Joy Seyram Gligah, Bani Lilian Afi, and Awuku Babina Amoabea, received well-deserved accolades. At the Edtech Conference on August 17th, 2023, at Accra’s Alisa Hotel, Edify Ghana rewarded the team with a term’s tuition fee scholarship, certificates, and valuable items.

Rev. Amadeus, the esteemed mentor, was recognized for his unwavering dedication with a special certificate. Additionally, Edify Ghana generously provided an HP Laptop to enhance the team’s capabilities.

St. Mary’s expresses gratitude to parents and Edify Ghana for their unwavering support.
The school looks forward to the continued success of Team Edify.
Glory be to God!!!
